Entrepreneurship is a powerful engine for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), addressing global challenges through innovation, economic growth, and sustainable practices.

Social Entrepreneurs actively contribute to the 17 SDGs, driving transformative changes across industries and communities; however, Paushtik Life is committed towards fulfilling 6 sustainable goals as of now. Paushtik Life is a mission-driven organization dedicated to using innovative and sustainable solutions to tackle global challenges in line with six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Here’s how Paushtik Life makes a meaningful impact on these SDGs:

SDG 2: Zero Hunger: Social entrepreneurs address food insecurity by creating new farming techniques, promoting sustainable agriculture, and empowering smallholder farmers. They introduce affordable technologies such as low-cost irrigation systems, organic fertilizers, and precision farming tools, which allow farmers to increase productivity sustainably. Paushtik life is one such organization.

Paushtik Life focuses on food insecurity through sustainable agricultural practice and empowerment of smallholder farmers. Paushtik Life also conducts cooperatives by opening up farmers’ access to fair markets and resources as well as runs food recovery programs to reduce food wastage. Paushtik Life is a collaborative initiative aimed at addressing the increasing issue of food security. They advocate for biodiversity in the food supply, encourage taste education, and link quality food producers with informed consumers through various events and initiatives.

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being: As the innovation bridges gaps in health delivery, social entrepreneurship develops accessible, low-cost provision of health care tailored to underserved communities. Paushtik Life prioritizes health and well-being by offering affordable and accessible nutrition-based products designed to meet the dietary needs of underserved populations.

They support organic farming which is good because it helps the plant to take right nutrients from the soil and it is free of any pesticides and fertilizers, that are actually harmful to health. Despite these, Paushtik life also launched various initiatives in order to maintain sanitation and well being of people in village areas. Their Yaas impact community support provided 390+ villagers with garments, phenyls, lime, organized community kitchen and provided desi vegetables and seeds for sowing. Additionally, they have also organized blood donation camps.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: Paushtik Life empowers marginalized communities, including women and youth, by creating employment opportunities and fostering skill development. Additionally, Paushtik Life runs training and internship programs to develop skills in sustainable farming and food production, enabling individuals to achieve economic independence and contribute to inclusive economic growth.

They support local farmers and provide them with the maximum profit gained through their products. In this way, the local market is also supported and face growth, by crediting them with what they produce.

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities: Through its innovative approach to sustainability, Paushtik Life contributes to building sustainable urban and rural communities. Their community development projects elevate those in need, those who are challenged by time and tradition. With support from various volunteering organizations, Paushtik life took the initiative to organize multiple relief and medical camps during 2020 and 2021 at areas affected mostly by cyclone Amphan and Yaas.

Their initiative to support Senior Citizen family members during lockdown phase helped them register as a Covid-19 Volunteer, under Ministry of Home Affairs in April 2020. They also executed an initiative called Yaas impact community support on 6th June, 2021, whose activities include community kitchen for 490 heads in 3 villages, distribution of garments to families, and distribution of phenyl, bleaching powder and lime for 350+ families, ensuring their sanitation and well being.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production Social entrepreneurs promote responsible consumption and production by integrating sustainability into their business models. They embrace circular economy principles, which involve recycling, reusing, and reducing waste.

Paushtik Life integrates sustainability into its business operations by embracing circular economy principles. It develops eco-friendly packaging solutions and encourages responsible production processes that minimize environmental impact. Additionally, Paushtik Life educates consumers about the importance of sustainable choices, promoting environmentally conscious lifestyles and consumption habits.

SDG 15: Life on Land: Paushtik Life focuses on conserving and sustaining biodiversity through the use of natural resources. Their initiatives promote community-led planting efforts and support agroforestry practices, which help maintain healthy ecosystems while minimizing soil erosion.

By implementing habitat restoration projects, they work to revive degraded areas that are home to diverse plant and animal species. They avoid pesticide and fertilizers induced foods, which inspires farmers to produce fruits and vegetables in a more natural and organic manner. This helps the soil to retain it’s nutrients and maintain it’s fertility.

Conclusion: Paushtik Life epitomizes the role of a social enterprise in furthering the SDGs. Innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability are the focus of the organization. This not only solves immediate challenges but also presents long-term solutions that empower communities, protect the environment, and build resilience. Through these six SDGs, Paushtik Life creates a meaningful impact and contributes to a more sustainable and equitable future.
